While the majority of the postcards feature views from either Nassau or Suffolk Counties, there are also a number of cards depicting images of Brooklyn and Queens.
Many different postcard printers, including German printers, who dominated the postcard printing market up until the outbreak of World War I, are represented in the collection. All postcards in the collection were published in either sepia tone, color or black and white (B&W).
Note: The collection includes more than five hundred business and industry related postcards, over one hundred of which were processed and digitized with funding from a grant from the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation.
