The letter was addressed to Garner at Ridgewood (formerly Jerusalem and now named Wantagh), L.I. Note: Garner was a son of John Garner (?-1833) and Sarah Birdsall (1790-1836). He was a farmer and also appeared to have continued operating John C. Birdsall’s general store after Birdsall’s death.
