    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Promise to pay note in the amount of two pounds, eight shillings, and nine pence, from James Lewis, of the Township of Hempstead, to Birdsall &amp; Jackson. Note: Birdsall &amp; Jackson was a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. It was operated by John C. Birdsall and Micah Jackson until the dissolution of their partnership in 1812. Birdsall continued operating the business, later taking on other partners.<br />
