    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Indenture (business note) between Joseph Birdsall of Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh) and James Parsons, a New York City merchant. Under the terms of the indenture, Birdsall became indebted to Parsons for a loan of one hundred fifty-six pounds,  one shilling, and seven pence, with a penal amount set at three hundred and twelve pounds, three shillings, and two pence. Receipt dated May 10, 1771, is on verso. Note: Birdsall owned a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. He was also a surveyor, a partner in a grist mill, a teacher in the Jerusalem school, and a lieutenant in the loyalist militia.]]></dcterms:description>
