The "Alfred F. Paul" was a sailing ship owned by the Albert Shipping Company in Baltimore, Maryland. It was eventually sunk by a German U-boat captained by Johannes Liebe on March 3rd, 1942 approximately 160 miles northeast of Cape Hatteras. In this photograph, the "Alfred F. Paul" is docked in Astoria, Queens.
