Description
View of room in which whaling era relics are on display. Printed text on verso provides brief details about the house and the items on exhibit. Note: Built in 1845, the building was originally the home of Benjamin Huntting, a prominent Sag Harbor citizen who owned whaling ships. It later was the summer home of philanthropist Mrs. Russell Sage until the time of her death in 1918. The building was then purchased by the Masonic Lodge in 1920. In 1945, it was deeded to the museum. The Masonic Lodge still uses the second floor as a Masonic Temple. (B&W)
