Description

Business note from George Balden to Joseph Birdsall. In the note, Balden requests that Birdsall "barer hereof have to the value of any sum under four pounds and set it to my acompt [account] and in So doing you will oblige me." Note: Birdsall owned a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. He was also a surveyor, a partner in a grist mill, a teacher in the Jerusalem school, and a lieutenant in the loyalist militia.
