Description

Business note from James Conkline to Joseph Budsel (alternate spelling of "Birdsall"). In the note, Seaman requests that Birdsall "let the bare here of have the sum of won pound five shillings and nine pence uPon my acount." Note: Birdsall owned a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. He was also a surveyor, a partner in a grist mill, a teacher in the Jerusalem school, and a lieutenant in the loyalist militia.
