Description

Articles of agreement (contract) between Joseph Birdsall and Joseph Burr, both of the Town of Hempstead. Under the terms of the agreement, Burr agreed to provide wholesale goods to Birdsall who would then sell the goods at retail. Note: Birdsall owned a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. He was also a surveyor, a partner in a grist mill, a teacher in the Jerusalem school, and a lieutenant in the loyalist militia.
