Receipt for payment of thirteen pounds, fourteen shillings, and ten and one-half pence made by John Langdon to William Walton, a New York City merchant. Payment was for purchase of dry goods, including kersey (fabric), powder, and nails. Note: Langdon operated a mill near his house on the Mill River at Near Rockaway, N.Y.; he also probably owned a farm at Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y.
