Receipt for payment of $42.54 made by William Garner, Sr., to H.T. Seaman, Dealer in Groceries, Dry Goods, Hardware, Boots and Shoes, Drugs and Medicine, at Ridgewood (present-day Wantagh) N.Y., for the purchase of guano. Note: Garner was a son of John Garner (?-1833) and Sarah Birdsall (1790-1836). He was a farmer and resided in Jerusalem, which was known for a while as Ridgewood, and which is present-day Wantagh, N.Y.
