Description

John C. Birdsall tavern keeper's license signed by the Board of Commissioners of Excise for the Town of Hempstead. The license permitted Birdsall to sell "spirituous liquors and wines" at his tavern. Note: John C. Birdsall was a partner in a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y.
