Description
Business note from Mary Jones to Joseph Birdsall. In the note, Jones requests that Birdsall "send me by the bearer two yards and a quarter of the same gimp [thread] that I had of yesterday and you will oblige." Note: Birdsall owned a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. He was also a surveyor, a partner in a grist mill, a teacher in the Jerusalem school, and a lieutenant in the loyalist militia.
