Description
Receipt for payment of ten shillings and six pence made to Jackson V [?] Dibble by Joseph Birdsall. the payment was for the purchase of 2 gallons of tar [?] and one quart of rum for "Mash people." The receipt was signed by Frederick Dibble. Note: Birdsall owned a general store in Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y. He was also a surveyor, a partner in a grist mill, a teacher in the Jerusalem school, and a lieutenant in the loyalist militia.
