Description
Account statement for purchases made by John Langdon from William Walton, a New York City merchant. Items purchased included dry goods, building materials, and rum. Notation on the verso states that amount owing was discounted by twenty one pounds, leaving a balnce due of one pound, 3 shillings, and eight and three-quarter pence. Note: Langdon operated a mill near his house on the Mill River at Near Rockaway, N.Y.; he also probably owned a farm at Jerusalem (present-day Wantagh), N.Y.
