The Pennsylvania Railroad at the Fair
Containing so much more than mere logistical information such as fares and schedules, this pamphlet distributed by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company describes the highlights of the Fair itself. Cross-country train service was available for the 1939 Fair, and was advertised as a way of comfortably and efficiently travelling long distances. An S1 train, a brand new model designed by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, was also on exhibit at the fair in the Transportation Zone, where it constantly ran on a fixed platform at 60 mph.
