The collection spans the years 1897 through 2005 and includes programs, playbills, booklets, broadsides, movie guides, news clippings, promotional materials, circus toys and musical instruments. The types of theatres represented in the collection include everything from community playhouses to the outdoor marine stadium at Jones Beach, and the productions run the gamut from lectures to musical extravaganzas.

Noteworthy items include Riverhead Lecture Association booklets from the 1913-14 through 1918-1919 seasons; Jones Beach Theater programs, including one from Michael Todd’s 1952 production of “A Night in Venice”; playbills from the Mineola Playhouse, where plays and jazz concerts were staged during the 1960s; and a number of colorful programs from the Westbury Music Fair.
